Meatless Farm partners with Omari McQueen to launch ‘For Kids By Kids’

Meatless Farm is partnering with the UK’s youngest award-winning plant-based chef to help make menus meatless in schools.

We’ve joined forces with Omari McQueen to launch ‘For Kids By Kids’, which aims to drive the uptake of plant-based food in school canteens.

The partnership is part of our foodservice mission and will include a content drive focusing on education and recipe inspiration, followed by engaging with schools directly, including co-development of recipes and products. We’ll also then be sponsoring LACA’s National School Meals Week in November to help introduce more plant-based options in schools.

With almost half (42%) of British children admitting they are worried about the future and the environment, we’ve teamed up with Omari to show school caterers the role that plant-based can play beyond the all-important functional and cost priorities.

We’ll be kicking off the campaign with a series of campaign films and recipe videos, shot alongside Meatless Farm culinary chef Ben Davy, including school dinner favourites and education on why school dinners and sustainable eating is important.

Omari, who recently landed his own vegan cookery show with the BBC and is about to release his first cookbook, admits that he is extremely passionate about the sustainability of food and teaching his generation more about where food is sourced.

“I am so excited to partner with Meatless Farm and to be able to share my love of cooking with such a forward-thinking brand.
