Real life meatless eyeballs in a devilishly deep tomato ragout for Halloween.
We’ve spiced ours with some harissa but leave that out if you don’t want them spicy.

  • 1 Pack Meatless Farm mince
  • ½ white onion, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1 big spoon of harissa
  • 50g flatleaf parsley, finely chopped
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 6 Radishes, finely sliced and blanched in boiling water for 2 mins.
  • 6 Black Olives finely sliced
  • 1 white onion roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 700g Jar passata
  • 1 bunch basil

  1. First, make the sauce. Drizzle some olive oil into a pan, add the onion and garlic, season with a pinch of sea salt and cook for 5 mins over a low heat. Add the passata and cook for 20 mins then stir in the basil.
  2. Make your eye balls… mix the mince, harissa, onion, garlic,  harissa and parsley together. Season with salt and pepper. Mix really well with your hands and shape into 25g balls.
  3. Tip the tomato sauce into a roasting dish, place in the meatballs. Roast in the oven at 180.C until the eyeballs are cooked (not something you hear every day).
  4. Place a round of radish and black olive on each ball.
  5. Now you’re ready to devour your devilled eye balls.
