What an epic way to jazz up your Friday night. This ‘fakeaway’ kebab has everything you need for a big night in. We served ours with airfryer chips and some hot sauce for dipping!
Ingredients
- 300g Meatless Farm Plant-Based Chiploatas
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
- Pinch of oregano
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp oil
For the pickled red cabbage…
- ¼ red cabbage, finely shredded
- 50g red wine vinegar
- 20g sugar
For the garlic sauce…
- 100g mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Handful of parsley, chopped
- 2 tsp white wine vinegar
Other bits…
- 2 flat breads or naan bread
- ¼ cucumber, sliced or chopped
- 1 large juicy tomato, chopped
- Pickled chillies (optional but excellent)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Hot sauce if you like it spicy
- A side of fries (we did ours in the airfryer)
Method
- First job is to make the donner ‘meat’. Remove the Meatless Farm Plant-Based Chipolatas from the packaging and then remove them from their skins into a bowl. Add in the spices, herbs and oil, mix really well until it’s one epic ball of spiced sausage meat.
- Pre-heat your oven to 180C. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper, spread out the donner on the paper until it’s about 4mm thick and fairly rectangular. Roast in the oven for 6 mins then set aside.
- For the pickled red cabbage, mix the cabbage with the vinegar, sugar and a pinch of salt, then set aside until later.
- For the garlic sauce, mix the mayo, vinegar, salt and garlic with the parsley. Set aside.
- When you’re ready to serve stick the flat bread in the oven for a minute to warm through along with the donner meat. When warmed through, cut the donner into strips.
- Stick your flat breads on plates, lay down some sliced lettuce, the tomato and cucumber, pickled red cabbage, and top with the donner meat, a drizzle of garlic sauce plus any additional garnishes you fancy. We love fresh mint, flat leaf parsley, hot sauce & pickled chillies
