Baked beans on toast with meat-free sausages

Posh Meat-Free Sausages & Beans On Toast

If it’s posh beans on toast you’re after, come on over to our house. What makes it posh? Well, we’ve made our own rich tomato sauce, cooked up some Plant-Based Chipolata Sausages and served it all on fresh sourdough toast. Dreamy.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Meatless Farm Plant-Based Chipolata Sausages
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tin of mixed beans
  • 2-4 slices of sourdough bread
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • Black pepper, to season
  • Olive oil, if frying sausages

Method

  1. Remove the sausages from the packaging (but leaving the plant-based casings on). Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a non-stick pan on a medium heat. Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally for approximately 8-10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, fry the onion and garlic on a medium heat in a separate pan until softened. Add the chopped tomatoes, herbs, pinch of salt and black pepper and simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Drain the mixed beans and add to the pan of sauce. Simmer and stir for a further 4-5 minutes.
  4. Toast the slices of bread and spread with butter (if using). Pour over the beans and add your sausages.
